Single-family houses to no longer require planning permits in Poland in bid to boost housing

  1. This is amazing. They scrapped the underperforming public service and eliminated a middle man in the process.

  2. Potentially good news. However first it’s a long road until the bill is live. Second – as long as interest rates keep going up and inflation soars, I doubt any housing boost occurs in the foreseeable future.

  3. Planning permission was a relatively minor aspect in our housebuilding. Sorting out utilities and a right of access was a much bigger issue.

I don’t think we spent more than a few hours sorting out planning permission

Compared to the difficulty of finding good builders, roofers, etc. and the difficulty with costs constantly increasing I can’t see this making much difference
