Dove Fire: Mandatory evacuations prompted by vegetation fire in Tuolumne County

Residents are being evacuated as a vegetation fire burns in Tuolumne County on Sunday, the sheriff’s office said.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office said the fire is burning near Highway 108 and Stockton Road. Mandatory evacuations are in effect for the following areas:

McKibbon DriveGolden Dove Lane Crooked Lane Southgate RoadStockton RoadSilver Pine LaneWashington Street to Lowe’sNorth Side of Mono to Washington Street

There are also evacuation warnings for the following areas:

S Washington Street to Barretta StreetMartha LaneOutlook DriveStewart StreetShepherd StreetBarretta StreetWashington Street from Highway 108 to the Red Church (Shell Street)

The Dove fire has burned 166 acres as of 5:20 p.m. and is spreading at a dangerous rate, officials said.

Stockton Road is closed at Highway 108 and Woodside Drive.

An animal evacuation center has been set up at Tuolumne County Animal Control and large animals are being evacuated at the Posse Grounds.
