  1. Ah god the poor auld fella. His only company in the world being taken from him. In saying that, the dog did bite someone. But surely to god the woman who got bit would have a bit of mercy. Like could she not agree to let it go if he put up a fence to stop the dog getting out on the road. There has to be a middleground here to save the dog!

  2. Either her leg is hanging off or she is one heartless woman to go so far to try and get an 85 year old man who lives alone dog put down.

  3. Genuine question, but how does this work if he simply refuses to cooperate? is the Dog forcibly removed from his home?

  4. Imagine your first thought going to “I want that dog destroyed” rather than “I’m gonna make sure that dog owner is responsible and the dog is kept on a lead in the garden at all times with the gate closed from now on so this doesn’t happen again”

  5. This is fucking heartless. He shouldn’t have to be dealing with this kind of shit at his age, likely to kill him.

  6. Gript Media is a poison. Sharing links like this allows them to appear normal and boosts their profile. Don’t help them, the sooner they go away the better for all of us.

  7. Hard case but definitely should be some repressions for the old man, dog was definitely not under control if it was able to get out and nip someone.

  8. If she was taken to hospital it had to have been more then a little nip. Gript article is very one sided. Feel bad the dog though.

  9. I’m clearly in the minority on this thread, but the dog sadly needs to be destroyed. Everyone has the right to walk down the road without being bit by a fucking dog. And that’s based on the clearly biased article. Are we to believe this otherwise placid dog suddenly decided to bite a stranger on the street, and that she’ll never do it again?

  10. We allow scumbags that push girls under a train off with a slap on the wrist but if a dog nips someone we have to kill it. I think we have these laws the wrong way around.

  11. The woman can’t insist that the dog is put down. Dog wardens from the local council will make an assessment then make recommendations. Sounds like this isn’t the first time the dog has bitten someone and also sounds like Joe has refused to engage with the council hence the summons
