Mentioned here is the miserable performance of Piers Morgan at the core of this dinosaur channel for dinosaurs.
Also the cheering fact that neither is currently visiting Oz.
Objectively why isn’t it working for Murdoch the way it works elsewhere?
Does the target already have enough relevant content?
Are they not that animated enough about TalkTV topics?
Not sure Fox News was an instant success.
Political cycle?
Market too small for so many similar outlets? Possibly my likely belief.
Tbh, I don’t even know how to access talkTV. I assume I can watch it online or get it on freeview via a 3-digit channel, but I’m not going out of my way unless it actually has a strong selling-point.
If they want to make it a success, I suggest they advertise it online and link directly to it.
Feels like Murdoch and his fellow goblins thought they saw a gap in the market for an “alternative” channel for the “anti-MSM” crowd, but they massively overestimated the size of that crowd. Turns out it’s just a few idiots making a big noise.
People don’t need TV news like they used to, and when they do want to watch it, they’re happy with the choices they already had. They’re also clearly bored of Piers Morgan – he was entertaining for a bit when he stirred the pot on his morning show, but then he stormed off in the most pathetic manner and his fans have moved on.
I don’t think Murdoch coming to the uk, is going to make much difference. TalkTV is a lemon and Piers Morgan isnt the attraction he thinks he is
GB News (which has experienced growth in viewers the past number of months) has already taken the market for right wing news channel. TalkTV is irrelevant. Piers Morgan is a dead cat.
