Every two years, the city of Brussels covers their Grand-Place with a giant carpet of flowers. Brought to you by the non-profit, Tapis de Fleur, graphic designers, illustrators and landscape architects come together to create the vision. 120 volunteers assemble the intricate carpet in less than six hours, and it measures 70 m x 24 m.

In 2026, the carpet’s theme will commemorate the 160 years of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Japan with a design reimagining Hokusai’s “The Great Wave of Kanagawa.”

2026 also brings about a new surprise for visitors: A second flower carpet. This display will feature hops, a nod to Belgium’s brewing history. It will be laid at the Place de la Bourse.

At the time of writing, online tickets availability is low; only Sunday tickets are still available. However, some tickets will still be available for purchase on site.
