By Rebecca Barnes, Publisher, Prince William Living
Every day across Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park, nonprofits are quietly changing lives.
They are feeding families, finding homes for pets, mentoring young people, preserving history, supporting veterans, providing healthcare, enriching the arts, protecting our environment, helping survivors, and responding when neighbors need them most. Much of this work happens behind the scenes, powered by dedicated staff, volunteers, board members, and donors who simply want to make our community stronger.
At Prince William Living, we believe those stories deserve to be told.
That’s why we’re excited to announce that nominations are now open for the annual Prince William Living Giving Back Awards, celebrating the nonprofit organizations that make an extraordinary difference in our community.
Every Nonprofit Has a Story
Some organizations have served our community for decades. Others are just beginning their journey. Some have dozens of employees, while others are run almost entirely by volunteers.
Size doesn’t determine impact.
Whether a nonprofit helps one person at a time or thousands each year, every act of service contributes to a stronger, healthier community. We know there are incredible organizations doing important work that many people have never heard of, and this is an opportunity to shine a light on them.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Any nonprofit serving Prince William County, Manassas, or Manassas Park is encouraged to participate.
You don’t have to wait for someone else to recognize your work. We welcome self-nominations, and we encourage board members, volunteers, staff, clients, donors, community partners, and supporters to nominate the organizations they believe deserve recognition.
If a nonprofit has made a difference in your life or in the lives of others, we want to hear its story.
Tell Us Why They Matter
A nomination is about more than listing accomplishments. We want to know how an organization is making our community better.
Has it filled a critical need?
Created new opportunities?
Inspired volunteers?
Changed lives?
Helped someone through a difficult season?
Those are the stories that deserve to be celebrated.
Recognition Benefits Everyone
Being recognized isn’t just about receiving an award.
Recognition helps nonprofits raise awareness, attract volunteers, build credibility with donors, strengthen grant applications, and connect with people who may not know their services exist. Every nomination also helps us introduce readers to organizations that are improving quality of life throughout our region.
Our hope is that every nomination encourages more people to volunteer, donate, advocate, and get involved.
Help Us Celebrate Those Who Give Back
One of the greatest strengths of our community is the number of people willing to serve others. The Giving Back Awards are our opportunity to recognize that commitment and say thank you.
If you know a nonprofit making a difference, nominate them.
If your organization is doing meaningful work, nominate yourselves.
Together, let’s celebrate the people and organizations that make Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park stronger every day.
Nominations are now open.
