Spain Park star and Shelby County Hitter of the Year Connor Greb was selected to the New Balance Future Stars Main Event Series in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, on Sept. 18-20.
As a junior, Greb batted an impressive .393 in 122 at-bats, with 35 walks compared to just 15 strikeouts. Not only did he get hits, but he delivered when it mattered, earning 39 RBI and 52 runs scored. That gave him an average of 2.2 runs created per game, which led the county.
Greb did not just hit for average; he also hit for power. Greb had 18 extra-base hits, including 10 doubles, three triples, and five home runs. He also stole 21 bases on 24 attempts.
The Auburn commit hauled in several individual honors this past season, including the North-South All-Star Game and both All-County and All-State first teams.
