Labour frontbenchers likely to be disciplined for joining rail pickets

  1. Thornberry said, on C4 news earlier, that because Labour is a “government in waiting”, it’s not appropriate for MPs to show solidarity on the picket line. Not even sure what “government in waiting” means, but would the party ever describe itself as anything but? Have we now seen the permanent end of Labour MPs supporting striking workers?

  2. Labour built by the unions now punishing members for supporting a legal industrial action.

Just when you think they might be improving they manage to go down in my estimations yet again.

  3. Jesus Christ what a disaster of a stance. Wouldn’t be surprised if he was challenged for the leadership if he started punishing people for attending picket lines.

  4. I agree with OP. If Sir Keir Starmer can’t keep discipline in his own Party, what chance does he have of running the country?

  5. Would say another party could capitalise on this and get votes off Labour, but then remembered we have FPTP, so that’ll just risking handing the Tories another election victory.
