  1. My mother was a nurse. She used to come in after work (particularly night shifts, for some reason), and eat cream crackers with butter and marmalade.

  2. It’s not that it’s too much butter, rather that the butter is too soft. It should be hard enough to leave teeth marks when you bite in but not too hard to schmear over the cracker. 5 out of 10 effort

  3. Ideally though, it should be COLD butter, from the fridge. You’ve clearly left the butter out all day ngl that’s sub-par now, so it is.

  4. My family’s one great claim to fame is that my great grandfather (Joseph Haughton) invented the cream cracker. A legacy I am truly proud of.

    Crackers are great. Did you eat them singly or layer them? I remember as a kid myself and my brother would compete to see who could eat the most crackers layered. Not trying to lick your lips while eating a cracker was another challenge we would do.
