The Kabul Tribune (KT) — A senior delegation from the
Taliban-run Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock has traveled to
Moldova at the official invitation of the Moldovan government to discuss
expanding practical and technical cooperation between the two countries.
The ministry said the delegation is led by its deputy
minister for agriculture and livestock, Sadr Azam Osmani, and will remain in
Moldova through Aug. 7.
During the visit, the Afghan delegation is expected to hold
talks with Moldovan officials on expanding cooperation in agriculture,
agricultural research and innovation, plant protection, modern agricultural
technologies and the implementation of joint practical programs, according to
the ministry.
Afghanistan and Moldova have potential for cooperation in
agricultural development. Areas of possible collaboration include sharing
experience in agricultural research and innovation, combating plant diseases
and pests, adopting modern agricultural technologies and increasing
agricultural production.
