Ask the landlord/building admin/previous owner.
This is simply a backlit switch which (likely) illuminates when whatever it’s connected to is powered on. Anything beyond that is a mystery.
I just moved into a new, modern apartment and can’t find what this switch is for. Is it perhaps related to floor heating? How does this work in the summertime?
I saw this once in my exgirlfriends house.
If i remember it right, it was for ramdomly selective lights. Which could light up every light in the house in radom order. So if you go on vacation thieves will believe theres probably somone at home.
Did you…. press it?
Backlight so you find the switch in the night.
To see them in the night dude
At my home they are for the stairway lights and lights up blue when the lights are turned off so you still find the button in the dark.
We also have another one with a orange light which is connected to the wifi and lights up orange when the wifi is turned on.
So it could be anything.
ask the landlord
Only use the left switches!!! Do not press the one on the right!
I‘ve added ones with a white light at my home for stairlight to see it at night but it can also be configured to show states (light if on or light if of) so there is maybe a device (heating, storageroom light, fan…) witch state cannot be seen without an indicator.
This is getting ridiculous. Now people are asking about things in their own flat where no one here, on Reddit, has ever been before. What’s next? People asking how many toilet paper rolls are left in their own toilets.
Why don’t you ask the landlord and the rental agency?
In the winter months, if pressed the buttons will automatically order a fondue/or raclette depending on your location. In summer months a cold Rivella and freshly grilled slightly burned cervelat will be delivered to your door. Only on weekdays 0900 – 2200.

This is just a type of switch that could be used for literally anything and there’s no way of knowing unless you have electrical plans, try it out or ask some who already knows. Maybe if you tell me what room it’s in and what other rooms are near by i can give you some good guesses
PlayStation 5 power button
They are next to the shutter up down switches? Maybe balcony lights?
Bro next thing you’re going to tell us is that you don’t know how to use the 3 shells in the bathroom.
The light serves two purposes. One is a mood setting blue lights bring down suicide rates. The second lets others know when you’re home
Jk. I don’t know but they look cool. Have you tried to email the property owner? Or ask your neighbors
Since wildly uninformed guesses are in style in this thread let me give my guess
I would guess that switch enables the window shutters. When it is on, the shutters will automatically close at some time if night, like 10pm and open at some time like 7am
Or
It could be lighting automation that initiated s sequence.
Or
It could enable and disable room monitoring cameras.
Or it could light a service light at a front counter.
Morty, grab a shovel
I would suggest pressing and seeing what happens.
The light can indicate two things: either it is turned on when the lights of the lamps are turned off so you can find the switch in the dark
Or it indicates that a lamp has turned on when the switch lights up.
The switch can be for lamps outside, outlets that are turned on by the switch or a light for another room (like bathroom with switch outside).
Either way you can only be sure by pressing it and testing it out. Let us know what you found out.
