A supermarket still remains shut nearly a week after its roof fell down.

Police rushed to Iceland on the High Street in March at 2.55pm last Tuesday, after reports that its structure had collapsed.

The store, along with the building next door, was evacuated.

A police cordon was put in place, and structural engineers attended the day after to assess damage to the building.

However, the store has confirmed that it remains closed as a precaution for the safety of its colleagues and customers.

An Iceland Foods spokesperson said: “Customers can still access home delivery services in the area, supported by nearby stores, and shop at their closest Iceland store on Cromwell Retail Park in Wisbech. We will continue to keep the community updated on changes and updates on the reopening of the store.”
