One person is in custody following a serious incident in which five patients were assessed by emergency services in Auckland’s Epsom this morning.
Emergency services were called to Manukau Rd just after 7am.
“The public can be reassured that one person is in custody,” a police spokesperson said.
Cordons were in place on Manukau Rd between Ranfurly Rd and Queen Mary Avenue.
Campbell Crescent was closed to Puriri Drive.
“There will be an increased Police presence in the area while inquiries are ongoing.”
St John said it sent four ambulances, two rapid response units, and two managers.
Five patients were assessed at the scene.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand said it sent one fire truck from Remuera.
Auckland Transport said bus routes were diverted due to the incident.
Police said more information would be released shortly.
