Countries where police do not carry guns

  1. How did Britain manage to unarm their police? For us we basically made having a gun a death sentence for a good while so it sort of sorted itself

  2. Hopefully it stays that way.

Wouldn’t trust Garda with guns, I’ve never met a Garda that’s not an arsehole and have never had positive experience with them. When I lived in the UK however their police force was always sound and always a positive experience.

Garda here seem to all be bully’s with god complexes including the ones I personally know off duty…

  3. We should be like Norway where every Garda is trained on how to use a gun, but doesn’t routinely carry it around and instead stores it securely in their car in the event of an emergency.

  4. TBH I think we need to start, at least with tazers. Things are getting worse out there. See the race riots of North Dublin. Not that the Gardaí did anything about those. And they’d probably just use the tazers on peaceful Irish protestors like when they beat the water protestors and the homeless squatters.

Y’know what, never mind, changed my mind 😛

  5. hmmm, did a trip to UK recently and it seems there are more and more armed police officers on patrol. Was very rare to see 20 years ago but definitely feel like it’s changing over there.

  6. Living in the UAE, I’ve never seen regular police carrying guns, so I don’t know what criteria they’re using.

  7. If the gardai need to access their guns they have to drive to Michael d higgins, and demand he honor his oath at which point they do a montage and MDH jumps through a skylight machine-gunning several as he hits the ground

  8. Pretending armed guards aren’t a thing and that the PSNI aren’t equally as armed as they used to be
