Just be warned, the fact that it was Bertie is going to give you a lot of instant downvotes.

Irish people are for the most part very pro-Palestinian. We see similarities in the struggle against an oppressor. There has been mutual respect for each other’s struggles between the Irish and the Palestinians for decades now.
I think we are probably the only country in Europe who would have a population that is pro-Palestinian in the majority.
That little girl is just sitting looking at Bertie there going, “I’ve read about you pal, no way am I being your photo op”.
Ireland always sticks up for the little guys. Your current struggle is fairly similar to our own, so we empathise. I honestly wish we could do more but the EU and USA are very much in the way.
I’d love to say I don’t know why Israel gets away with what it gets away with but unfortunately that’s the way of the world all over.
Respect 🇵🇸 🇮🇪
That narrative of that slimy fuck Bertie is cringe
There are bigger problems in the world right now.
They are subject to an Israeli / US driven genocide.
While Israel has absolutely committed war crimes I don’t think the leadership of either side actually want peace. Israel appears to want to be left alone, but at the same time they are forcibly removing Palestinian people from their homes and enforcing an apartheid state upon them. On the other side you have the likes of HAMAS who’s goal is to wipe Israel and it’s people off the map.
Another pointless conflict a result of nonsense religions. I do feel for the innocents dieing on both sides.
Irish people believe Palestinians should have accepted the Torah as inviolable and instantly all packed up in 1917 and gone to live in Babylon.
Anything less is antisemitism.
>!\s!<
I’d be more curious. Are you from Palestine? And what ultimately do you want? Peace? Co exist with Israel? It rarely comes up , what’s the end goal …bar goodies vs baddies stuff you see on Irish social media.
Think our sympathy lies with the occupied more than the occupier. Even though Israel aren’t totally in the wrong most Irish people don’t want to hear it.
Don’t like either nation but respect both of their rights to exist and it’s peoples rights to live in safety
It’s complicated, Israel have treated Palestinians like trash and the Arabs shouldn’t of invaded in 48.
I’d like to think that a 1 state solution could be found and both sides could rise above the shite but alas and a 2 state solution while sounds positive is still a cluster fuck. I don’t stand with Palestine but I don’t stand with Isreal either, some of the shit their troops pull is basically the out of the black and tan handbook if not worse.
I’m generally pro-Palestine and very much anti-Zionist expansion however I’m not in favour of Hamas terrorism or the anti-semetic rhetoric of destroying the state of Israel
I don’t like to compare our history with that of Palestine but our history has undeniably given us some empathy with what they have experienced and are experiencing. What Western governments are permitting Israel to do! is utterly shameful and disgraceful.
I would like Palestine to finally be free. However I also think the Palestinian people have the unfortunate habit of continually electing leaders who have no clue how to accomplish this goal.
I remember hearing somewhere Israel never signed several international laws, which allows international courts try soldiers for war crimes hence you see so much of this stuff as Israeli soldiers don’t worry about crimes. But I have no source of proof on this info. I 100% side with Palestine, but I don’t know how true that is, anyone know if there is something behind this or did I give in to propaganda ( all be it propaganda supporting the right side)
Ireland should recognise Palestine
I have a different view , and from past experience on r/Ireland I’m not gona bother saying anything about this due to being down voted into oblivion . R/Ireland is not the place to get a answers to this question.
I don’t like terrorists.
Palestinians are chill. Relate heavily to their history
The shitshow of a conflict that leans heavily on the ethnic cleansing rhetoric by the conservative theocratic nationalists on both sides is a disgusting byproduct of larger powers playing with Palestinian lives and homes for very little gain.
Isreal is the more powerful force though and it’s continued imperialist expansionism through ethnic displacement and cultural eradication for their own plantations is disgusting for a nation continually backed by the west. Similar to the Saudis actions in surrounding territories it’s disgusting this goes at large ignored by the UN
Our gov included.
Generally Irish people are very pro-Palestine. I always wondered how sick the victims of the Holocaust would be if they could see what they’re descendants are doing now.
No interest in the conflict. Don’t care in the slightest
Well Palestine is under apartheid rule. That’s what I think.
Im not surprised at all by the outpouring of support from the Irish for the Palestinian people (Palestinian people since 1967). The Irish are probably one of the most anti semitic countries of them all, a country that is seemingly happy supporting one group that openly calls for the genocide of all Jews in Israel. After all, at the end of the 2nd world war, it was Ireland who refused to accept any holocaust survivors, the same Ireland who were playing GAA with the Nazis while the allied forces were fighting them in Europe, the same Ireland who offered condolences to the Nazis after that coward Hitler killed himself. This is the same Ireland where Irish people were marching in Limerick in 1904 against the presence of Jews in that city, the “Christ killers”. yep, its just the way it is, some things’ll never change.
