So apparently King Philip is the second highest paid head of state in the world, after the Queen of England. And our Prime mister Charles Michel (article from 2018) ranks fifth in the list of highest paid heads of government. The king annual pay is 11.728.47€ and the prime minister 291.000€.

I didn’t know they were paid that much! What do you think about it?

  1. Are those number even correct? Last time I saw any comparison like that our king wasn’t close to the top of that list. I’m not quite sure about the prime minister though.

  2. Don’t care that much that the King earns 11 million as a lot of the money goes directly and indirectly back into the Belgian economy. It is mostly a ‘broekzak-vestzak’. They are not in it for the money…
A prime minister has to be paid enough as otherwise no competent person would want to become the laughing stock of a country when you can earn twice the number in the business…
