Nope, not even one of those in the 8 surnames I know
My surname is so rare the first time people hear about it is when they meet me.
Nopo
One is my surname but i dont live there.
Interestingly, “Martinez” is the surname with more territorial fragmentation (regions where Martinez is the first surname don’t touch each other).
EDIT: funny, the same happens with “Martin”, which is the root of “Martinez”. And Rodríguez as well.
Actually none of these are my surname because im british!
I know up to 8 of my last names and none of them are on that chart.
Also that’s an interesting color choice for Pérez. Looks like a “no data” color.
Garcia is the most common surname in spain, coming from the basque surname “gartzea” originally from the navarre kingdom long time ago
Mine not found, Blanco.
Jamás he conocido a un Mohammed.
Finally I’m at the top of a list
Well… In Spain are less than 5 with my surname :0
Every Spanish surname is so beautiful to me (non-Spaniard). Spanish is a lovely language!
Nope
I got the Mohamed, but granted I’m not from Spain.
Heh interesting, i have to go to my fourth surname to find any of the ones in the list. As an interesting detail my second surname only has like 10 people in Spain and 60 worldwide, and i can trace back from who i come to a Charlemagne noble/adviser that was the one that made up the surname haha
That they are the most common doesn’t mean that the most common thing is to have one of them. It would be interesting to look statistics but if I had to guess less that 20% of Spaniards have one of these.
ninguno es mi apellido
Nope, my surenames aren’t there 😀
Nope. My surnames are not there
What about Hernandez
Why does it seem there’s only about a dozen very popular Spanish surnames. Meanwhile other countries have seemingly much more variety?
Jajaja no no nono
One of those is not like the others…
Not very color blind friendly. I basically just see Garcia Martinez, Martinez Rodriguez Fernandez, Lopez Martin Perez, and Sanchez Mohamed (maybe Perez). Gonzales stands out, because I think it’s only Canarias, and the biggest portion is Garcia?
Edit: I can see the difference in color if they are close to each other and occupy a bigger area, because they have a different hue, but most of the colors look the same to me on the chart to the left.
Mine is Julius
70k with my first 30k with my second, common surnames I guess
my last name is pretty common, but it’s not on the list
Mohamed name never was Spanish and it will never be. Mohamed is a terrorist name.
