If you suggested banning school children from owning mobile phones the parents would be outraged.
Signal strength decays as the inverse square of the distance so you get much more exposure from a phone in your hand or pocket than a more powerful mast many metres away.
Wish someone would build one near me so I can get rid of my broadband.
