The Nuclear Regulatory Commission didn’t follow protocol and ignored environmental concerns when renewing licenses for a nuclear power plant near Miami, a Florida-based environmental group told the DC Circuit.
Miami Waterkeeper Inc. is challenging the NRC’s decision to deny the group a hearing before renewing operating licenses for Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Units 3 and 4. The group was part of the underlying administrative proceedings, raising concerns over the NRC’s environmental review before the agency terminated proceedings in March.
