LISBON — A golf outing to honor the victim of a crash caused by a wrong-way driver in 2021 will be held again this year.

The sixth annual Marleh Lehmann Scholarship Golf Outing will take place at Ironwood Golf Course in Lisbon on Saturday. The 18-hole event starts at 7:30 a.m. with a nine-hole event at 3:30 p.m.

The Marleh Lehmann Scholarship Foundation has held the golf outing each year since 2021, when Marleh Lehmann, 20, was killed by a wrong-way driver with dementia on Interstate 94.

On Jan. 25, 2021, Lehmann was on I-94 driving to her parents’ house in Pewaukee when she was struck head-on by a driver traveling in the wrong direction. The wrong-way driver, a 76-year-old man from Watertown who had dementia, was also killed in the crash. The crash took place just after 7 p.m., according to Wisconsin State Patrol.

The Marleh Lehmann Scholarship Foundation by Lehmann’s family and friends and awards scholarships to college-bound high school students based on “how they embody the characteristics and qualities that Lehmann possesses,” according to the foundation’s website. Profits from the annual golf outing, the “No Worries None” clothing line — an apparel line that reflects Lehmann’s “no worries” attitude — and other events held by the foundation go towards the scholarship funds.

The foundation awards a variety of scholarships, according to its website. The foundation donates to Waukesha County Technical College to allow students who need financial aid to pursue a technical college education. The Marleh Lehmann Scholarship Foundation also awards two $1,000 scholarships for graduates of Arrowhead High School. Lastly, the foundation partners with and donates to All-In Milwaukee, a Milwaukee-based organization provides financial aid, advising, program and career support to high-potential, limited-income Milwaukee students to complete college, according to its website.
