Tory MP says church is making Conservatives feel ‘unwelcome’ following Rwanda comments

  1. Maybe try acting a bit more Christian, then.

And not the modern ‘Jesus would approve of us shipping the poor and needy to Rwanda’ flavour.

  2. Cruelty to people in need is very obviously a sin. It is normal that churchgoers would be uncomfortable and unwilling to play nice with sinners.

I would also expect to get a cold reception if I brought my mistress to church or bragged loudly about how I love stealing.

  3. >Tory MP says church is making Conservatives feel ‘unwelcome’ following Rwanda comments

She does realise the god she worships was a refugee as a very young child?

  4. Ahh, the ole “not tolerating my intolerance is intolerance” argument.

If we keep recycling their political bullshit it won’t be long until we’re the 51^st state

  5. I bet the immigrants affected by this plan know a bit more about feeling unwelcome than she does. If she want to feel more accepted at church then she should act more Christian and do her best to help the poor and needy. Sending them thousands of miles away is very much the opposite of that.

  6. should start making the bibles position on rent seeking and dodgy money lenders regular parts of their sermons while they are at it.

  7. Try acting like Christians then?

    Deuteronomy 27:19

“Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”

  8. About time the Church got involved, and did a useful function in society, as I believe is supposed to be the idea; Christianity and all that stuff.

Personally an atheist, but I do think that if you are going to have a religion based on ‘good teachings’ of the flying spaghetti monster, it should at least function as prescribed.

  9. If you say your Church needs to be accepting of your views, what you are really saying is that God needs to be more accepting of your views – which is the same as saying you are right and God is wrong.

In my opinion that’s a pretty based take. *But I’m not a motherfuckin christian saying that am I*

  10. Why would the party that kills people and children with reckless abandon want to be in a church? I mean I know the church is filled with the worst types too but the Tories will blow their cover seeing as they celebrate their villany in the open.

  11. As they should. The current Conservative cabinet does not represent Christian values at all, and neither do the Tory MPs blindly backing Boris and his cronies.

Jesus said “love thy neighbour”, not “love thy neighbour if their skin tone is lighter than a slice of ham.”
