Volaris continues its growth across the Americas with the announcement of eight new routes that will enter service starting in December 2026. The ultra-low-cost carrier will strengthen its network in Mexico, the United States, Central America and South America, with a special focus on consolidating Guadalajara as one of its main hubs and expanding connectivity between Colombia and Mexico.

Tickets for the new services are already on sale at Volaris.com and on the airline’s official app, and include four destinations in the United States, two in Central and South America, and two domestic routes.

Volaris’ Executive Vice President of Commercial and Operations, Holger Blankenstein, said in a statement that these additions provide “more routes, more destinations and more opportunities to connect Mexico with the continent,” while strengthening Guadalajara and expanding the offering from Puebla.

Guadalajara–Medellín: the year-round connection with Colombia

The new route between Guadalajara and Medellín is particularly significant, joining the existing Guadalajara–Bogotá service. With three weekly frequencies (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), Volaris will become the only airline offering year-round air connectivity between Guadalajara and Colombia.

According to the company’s official statement, operations will begin on December 2, 2026. The scheduled times are:

Guadalajara, capital of Jalisco and known as the “Pearl of the West,” is one of Volaris’ main operating bases and, with this addition, will offer connections to 64 domestic and international destinations through more than 110 daily departures.

The route will allow passengers from Medellín to access Guadalajara’s broad offering of international connections, especially to the United States, for business travel, tourism, education or family visits. Volaris began operations in Colombia in October 2021 and has since carried more than 660,000 passengers on over 4,900 flights between the two countries. Blankenstein noted that “Colombia is one of the most important countries in Latin America, so connecting it further with Mexico is a source of pride to expand travel options for Medellín residents.”

“Volaris is consolidating its position as a benchmark in South America’s air connectivity and fulfilling its commitment to democratize the skies,” he concluded.

In addition to Medellín, the following initial frequencies were announced:

These additions come amid the airline’s continued growth: it operates a fleet of more than 150 Airbus A320 family aircraft and connects 46 cities in Mexico with 29 destinations in the United States, Central and South America. Guadalajara is consolidating its position as one of the country’s best-connected airports, while Puebla adds beach options and a new gateway to the United States.
