This confirms not only Slovakia’s national record but also the highest temperature recorded in Central Europe among the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, and Germany.

This year, the Czech Republic has experienced a record-breaking heatwave: more than 77% of stations recorded new all-time temperature records. For example, 41.9°C was recorded in Doksany in the Litoměřice Region on June 28; temperatures remained at 40°C or higher for five days, whereas previously this had occurred for only three days.

Meteorologists are warning that tropical temperatures of up to 36°C will return next week after a brief drop to 24–28°C, which is expected on Friday and Saturday.

Heatwaves in Europe this summer have caused drought in some regions of the continent, affecting the major rivers Danube and Rhine.

These trends highlight the need for long-term monitoring of climate factors and adaptive measures by regional authorities.
