A man is facing charges after he allegedly robbed a convenience store in Paris and led Madison County law enforcement on a pursuit.

Willis Craig was arrested and charged for his offenses in Madison County and aggravated robbery out of Paris.
PARIS, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Paris Police Department said a convenience store robbery ended in a vehicle pursuit in Madison County on Friday night.
PPD said the robbery happened at a local convenience store just after 8 p.m. Following the incident, the clerk called 911, and officers responded to the scene.
The clerk told police the suspect was male and had robbed the store after brandishing what she believed was a stun gun. The suspect then reportedly fled the scene on foot before getting into a vehicle that was parked behind a nearby business.
PPD said officers immediately being investigating and canvassing the area. Officers were able to speak with a witness who recognized the suspect based on a still image from surveillance video.
“Officers used investigative methods to confirm the identity of the suspect as Willis Craig and were able to determine what vehicle he had been driving based off a recent interaction with police,” PPD said.
Officers tried to contact Craig at his last known address, but they were not able to locate him. PPD said they then used the Flock camera system to try and locate Craig’s vehicle, which was spotted in Madison County around 9:30 p.m.
PPD then notified Madison County law enforcement to be on the lookout for Craig and his vehicle.
“A short time later, Henry County Emergency Communications as contacted by Madison County and advised that officers had attempted to stop the vehicle, and it led them on a vehicle pursuit,” PPD said.
Madison County officials were able to get Craig’s vehicle to stop and arrested him on charges in that county and his aggravated robbery charge out of Paris.
