Englishman visiting the Baltics. €8 for a salami. Madness, complete and utter madness.

  1. You should look for milk, butter, raw meat and similar products. Even curd snack price doubled in less than a year. Oh and let’s not forget fuel.

  2. Probably this company raised prices to see if it’s acceptable. Will most likely drop it, because this is mediocre product, totally not worth 8 euros. Shit companies do that all the time.

  3. First, its not a salami. This kind of meat was never 3€. Its dried pork ham. They were always more expensive than smoked meat. I think year ago it was 5,99

  4. it kinda got more expensive i remember for like 6.5 euros you could basically buy a pizza like 42cm in diameter for americans that would be like ultra cheap if our average wage was 6 digits instead of maximum up to 4-5 digits you know then minimal wage was like 340euros

  5. As a Lithuanian i agree. Our inflation and prices are getting out of hand ☹️. Well at least there are some cheaper options for now, but it’s slowly getting worse.

  6. Wtf is that price. Most salami doesn’t cost nearly that much. Were you deliberately looking for the most expensive one?

  7. The prices went up real bad after the covid and war begun. A few months ago I paid around 0.30€ for my favorite ice cream, now my closest shop charges 0.80€ for it. Goddammit Martha.

The fuel prices skyrocketed in half a year, going from around 1.10€ for a liter of diesel to around 2€ now (it’s around 9€ / gallon instead of 4.5€)

The minimal wage was increased a bit but it ain’t making a difference in my company because we have a bonus salary system. The headquarters decided to increase the base wage as much as country requires and cut off the bonus just as much making us earn even less in the long run.

I can still afford my flat, phone bills, food and education but there’s zero money left for extra expenses like getting a car, travelling once a year somewhere or even buying a decent vacuum cleaner. I earn around 700€ / month working 12 hours per shift, full time position. I used to earn 800€ – 900€ /month half a year ago in the same working conditions

  8. I love it how this thread is used by everyone as a way to vent about rising prices and other bad things, even though this is not a salami but a dried sausage…

  9. what do you expect, this is not salami, this is expensive and high quality and this always cost around 5-6€ so now with inflation i dont see a problem

  10. Visas tokias dešras branges kiek ragavau tai praktiškai spjoviau iškart. Jos visos rūgščios…. Jau geriau pigūs servelatai… O dar geriau turguje šalto rūkymo šoninės lašinukas. Bent žinai už ką moki…
