Why is the Brexit elephant in the room being ignored?

  1. Probably because everyone has now developed a nervous twitch on hearing the word, and never wants to hear it ever again.

  2. People think Brexit is done and not something that we are still living through. There is also the idea that the benefits will materialise in the future and this is just a blip before all that, even when we have already seen a 5% dip in the economy as a result of Brexit. People do not want to admit they have been had and the benefits were only meant for a handful of rich people.

  3. It’s probably because Brexiters have got what they want while Remainers are letting it run its course so the arguments for closer ties with the EU make themselves down the line.

  4. A genuine question here but has the UK ever been honest about it’s past mistakes? Whether it’s colonialism or Brexit it feels like a mix of ideas that it’s not wrong or if you just ignore it then it goes away.

  5. Because some determined, aggressive people are more attached to the idea of getting rid of foreigners (which is the only thing Brexit was really about) than they are to having economic growth, staff in restaurants, NHS, etc, companies able to make a profit exporting to Europe, easy travel to sunny places and frankly just food in the supermarket they shop at.

Everyone’s placating those people instead of telling them to calm down, shut up, and admit they were wrong.

  6. Maybe. Just maybe, the B word is a taboo as it is career limiting because one won’t be invited to parties or functions if the word is often used. Imagine if you need to attend functions to write essays, that would be an issue, would it not?

  7. Because no-one in Britain understands politics or economics. Brits voted Brexit to tell the Euro-Pigs in Nazi Germany to f**k off, and to expel foreigners from the country. AND FOR NO OTHER REASON.

Presumably they think that this is being achieved, so in their heads there is nothing else to discuss re. Brexit.

Meanwhile, the British visceral hatred of foreigners has got so far out of hand that we have Priti Patel cravenly pandering to the political far right when THEY F***ING HATE HER BECAUSE SHE’S A P**I….

  8. Because Labour signed the deal and stuffed themselves on being able to ever criticise Brexit again.

And because the Lib Dems, SNP and other smaller parties do criticise Brexit all the time, but get no traction in the media.

Both reasons are because the 2 dinosaur party system must be preserved by the establishment at all costs.
