Croatia’s Miss World representative Ema Helena Vičar has arrived in Vietnam, where she will compete in the 73rd Miss World competition and represent the country before an international audience.
The Croatian contestant will take part in almost a month of competitions, humanitarian activities, cultural events and official programmes. Around 130 contestants from around the world are expected to participate, with the grand final scheduled to take place in Nha Trang on 5 September.
Vićar will compete in all seven official categories, with the winner of each category securing a direct place in the Top 40.
One of her main projects is Beauty with a Purpose, through which she will present Blue Planet: A Purpose for Life, focusing on the protection of the Adriatic Sea and the problem of discarded fishing nets.

The project highlights Croatian initiative Krie x Provir, which transforms collected fishing nets into ECONYL® regenerated nylon fibre.
For the Top Model category, Vičar will wear a creation by Croatian designer Marina Matić of LARIE, inspired by Plitvice Lakes and Krka National Parks. The elaborate dress features more than 500,000 Swarovski crystals, beads and stones, accompanied by a nearly six-metre-long cape.

She will also compete in the Talent, Head-to-Head Challenge, Interview, Sport and Multimedia categories, presenting aspects of Croatian culture, education, entrepreneurship, sustainability and environmental protection.
During her stay, Vičar will participate in humanitarian initiatives, fashion shows, cultural events, official photography sessions and presentations of participating countries.
She has taken more than 20 fashion outfits to Vietnam, including evening dresses and designs from Croatian boutiques. She will also present a Croatian artwork by artist Dimitrije Popović at a Beauty with a Purpose charity auction.

Through the competition, Vičar aims to promote Croatia’s natural heritage, culture and environmental initiatives, while highlighting the idea that beauty can also serve a wider purpose.
