From what I see, a lot of people like nature to be ‘clean’ so they think their manicured garden or our carefully cultured countrysides are great for wildlife when they are rather barren instead. The idea that we let things grow messy and make a concerted effort to rewild the UK is unpopular, despite people generally claiming to love animals and to want to protect endangered species like hedgehogs and various butterfly species. This helps the government as they do not have to put in real effort into conservation bills, with only small special interest groups typically mounting any challenge to their shortcomings.
Well, he was probably only doing it to impress Carrie.
This is just a far too long headline! Wouldn’t “boris Johnson failing to keep policy pledges” suffice? Could be reused many many times as well
