A weekly gathering in Portugal’s capital turned public solidarity into direct support, while the community announced more events for the weeks ahead.

In central Lisbon, the Ukrainian community held another weekly rally in support of Ukraine. Participants reminded residents and visitors to the Portuguese capital about Russia’s crimes against Ukrainians and the importance of continued assistance to Ukraine.

The volunteer community With Portugal shared information about the event.

Fundraising for “Come Back Alive”

During the rally, €61 was raised for the “Come Back Alive” charity foundation. Since the weekly demonstrations began, the community has collected and donated a total of UAH 841,967 to the foundation.

The next rally in Lisbon is scheduled for Saturday, 15 August, at 6:00 p.m. in Praça Dom Pedro IV, in the city centre.

An event dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day will also take place in the Portuguese capital on 23 August.
