An invite to visit Newark has been extended to the Vice President of the United States.
Robert Jenrick, the MP for Newark, met with the JD Vance during a visit to Washington DC on Thursday last week.
Over lunch, the two discussed several topics – including military spending, as the Reform MP added that his party plans to fund military at 3% of GDP by 2030, if able to form a government.

Mr Jenrick also told the Advertiser that he has invited Mr Vance to visit Newark the next time he is in the UK.
He stated that that it would be an opportunity for Donald Trump’s number two to see Nottinghamshire’s historic connections with the Mayflower Pilgrims, who first settled in what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1620.
