Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Dr. Debra Bogen visited West Scranton High School on Thursday to highlight how the Shapiro Administration’s investment in free period products for all schools is continuing to eliminate barriers to education, ensuring female students can focus on learning. With $3 million in the 2026-27 state budget, Gov. Josh Shapiro has secured $9 million for free period products over three years. This sustained, first-of-its-kind funding equips more than 750 school districts, intermediate units, career and technical centers, and charter schools with access to essential hygiene products.
