How do I use this weird oven? I just want to bake a pie and my American self can’t handle it (even though I’ve lived in Belgium for months).

You need the one at 5 o clock
If you push the button on the left it will pop out and then you can set the oven function. For a pie I guess you would go either for the regular setting, triple waves, or the hot air function, the fan symbol. The other buttons seen to be timers in minutes. I guess on the right there’s another button for the temperature.
No manual?
Hard to tell from that picture.
Looks like it has a microwave mode, as well as the normal hot air, hot air+ grill, hot air+ bottom heat, and grill modes…
But what’s P? Is it program or pyrolysis?
What are the buttons on the side? Are they temperature or time or microwave wattage?
I’m really spending too much time trying to guess stuff here when you’re in front of the oven and can probably Google the manufacturer name and model number to find a manual.
No one knows it here, you just accept your fate and eat it cold and then realise it’s actually not that bad cold but you might’ve just poisoned yourself.
One to the right, three waves = microwave.
Use the fan = hot air.
Standard temp = 180° (not the button with 180 on it)
Numbers on the right are microwave Watts
My new apartment has this exact confusing oven and I’ve just been using the one at 5 o clock for everything and its going fine lmao
Don’t ask me. I own a 20 year old oven 😅
Put it on P from Pie and 360 because a pie is round
IS there a friteuse in sight? Because you can always bake Belgian fries
How bad UI design is on microwaves and ovens has always blown my mind.
Check oven type.
Download manual.
RTFM.
Sorted
This is a microwave combi oven. (so microwave and oven in one, a normal oven is better than a combi when it comes to baking but this’ll do)
You push the knob with the symbols around it, it will pop out and it can be rotated.
The symbols clockwise starting with the zero. (just to be safe I don’t know how standardized these symbols are worldwide)
0: Off, putting it on any other stance than this will turn it on (you do not need to press it again on other stances). When you are done return the knob to this position and press it it again so it returns to the state it is in the picture. Most ovens will start beeping at you if you don’t.
The three waves: Microwave. The numbers you also see in the picture are to regulated wattage. (but the average person doesn’t use those)
The fan: Hot air. One of the options for making a pie.
Fan and jagged line: Hot air and grill. (if you look inside you’ll see an open heating element at the top)
Fan with a line beneath: Hot air and floor oven. Good for pizza’s. The other option for your pie.
Jagged line: Grill
P: Program. Often a cleaning program is in there and sometimes you can put your own in but that’s beyond what I know.
This oven has no standard oven function (which would be the best option for a pie), just heating elements without the use of hot air (which would be two straight lines top and bottom) So like I said, the hot air or hot air/ Floor oven function would be best for pie.
I’m also going to guess that the temperature controls are on the other side of the display but I can’t really explain without seeing cause there is some variance there. (they’re usually pretty self explanatory anyway.)
And just in case, if you are using an American recipe make sure to convert your temperature to celcius. Good luck.
Also, you should press on the big round button and it should pop out
Does the big knob pops out when you push it in? It looks that way.
