About 100 people have descended on Kent County Council’s headquarters in an anti-immigration protest.
The demonstration is taking place at County Hall in Maidstone this afternoon, and began at about 1pm.

The event has been organised by anti-immigration campaigner Harry Hilden.
In the days leading up to the protest, Mr Hilden made several posts on Facebook, including laying down ground rules for anyone in attendance.
Declaring there should be no alcohol at the event, he said: “It’s far from a hooligan event. Do as you please afterwards, but if you are coming as an excuse to get drunk, it’s not the place for you and you will be sent away.”
He also told people not to bring their own megaphones or bring “foreign flags”.

Kent Police confirmed yesterday that it was aware of the protest and would be attending.
In videos before the event, Mr Hildren said the demonstration is against “KCC housing illegal migrants in Kent”.
He referenced sites used to house unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
KCC has a legal duty to look after these children. The reception centres are funded by central government but run by the council.
