KATHMANDU. Iran has claimed victory in the ‘unjust war’ waged by America and Israel, both militarily and politically.

We have been victorious in the ‘war’ both militarily and politically, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf claimed on Sunday, as quoted by Iranian Press TV.

Sharing his statement on Telegram, Press TV wrote, “Iran stood firmly against this ‘unjust war’ of America and Israel. I can say with full confidence that we have truly won this war, both militarily and politically.”

This statement comes at a time when US President Donald Trump is claiming that Iran’s military infrastructure has been completely destroyed.

According to Press TV, Ghalibaf called the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Iran and America a ‘source of pride and victory’. He said, “This will further strengthen our success on the diplomatic front.”

He said, “The Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and America is a source of pride and victory. It further strengthens our success on the diplomatic front.”

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Press TV reported, “The Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces has reiterated his determination not to back down until the country’s demands are met and the ‘American-Zionist enemies’ are completely defeated from the region.”

He said, “Appreciating the iron will and unwavering resolve of the patient and steadfast people of Iran, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces has assured that they will not back down until the legitimate demands of the nation and the dear leader against the aggressor America are met, until the American-Zionist enemies in the region are completely defeated, until the rights of the brave Iranian people are ensured, and until the enemy is forced to surrender.”

Iran has said, “Iran is close to a final agreement with Oman to demarcate a new shipping route in the Strait of Hormuz.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi said on Saturday that “the talks and the reopening of the waterway are ‘two different things’.”

He said, “Whether the waterway will be opened or not depends on America fulfilling other conditions, including the lifting of sanctions and the return of Iranian assets.”
