Hi,
We’re moving into an Altbau apartment in Vienna which has the strange feature of no running hot water to any room except the bathroom, where the boiler is located. We’re installing the kitchen as the place is newly refurbished, and I’ve only just realised that it will need an under-sink instant water heater for kitchen faucet.
What I’d like to know is, what does “therme” mean on the fuse box (picture below, with my added annotations in English). Is that a provision for a water heater unit? And if so, is it just meant for the standard 13amp socket which is also under the sink, or something more powerful??

Thank you!!

We refer to “Therme” (short for Gastherme) usually to the gas stove that heats water for your faucets and your radiators to heat in the winter. (= Kombitherme)
Does your “Boiler” just heat the water for the faucets?
How do you heat? With gas? Then the circuit breaker “Therme” refers to your gas-powered heater.
The two sockets under your sink are most probably on circuit breaker number 9, “Geschirrspüler”. Both outlets are probably on the same circuit breaker. In the end you should be able to put both the water heater and dishwasher on this circuit breaker, but if you are unsure, go ask a certified electrician.
In the end, it is quite easy to find out? Just pull the circuit breaker and look if the outlets still have power…
