Hello everyone,
So I was thinking about moving to Copenhagen from [Greece.](https://Greece.Im) I am a cook and I got not a single clue about speaking Danish. Great use of english tho. I know this type of questions are f\*ing million times posted. I would so much appreciate, you giving me any kind of information that may be useful about, housing,jobs,communication(since I dont speak Danish), Copenhagen lifestyle or whatever you think is important for a foreigner to know in Denmark.

Cheers,
Alex.

  1. You are going to be fine everybody speaks English here. I can’t help you that much with Copenhagen since I am not from there. I would recommend you to also post on r/copenhagen .

  2. You will do fine with English,just expect that learning Danish is hard. Couple of things:

    * There’s actually a pretty large Greek community on CPH
    * Rent is expensive
    * You will need some sort of visa, so investigate on what basis you want to move
    * Doctors are free
    * I like public transport although most Danes hate it (far worse in my country)
    * Good work life balance

  3. One note, loads of bicyclists. I remember seeing a documentary ten years ago from Athens that said Greeks thought you were retarded/mentally handicapped if you used a bicycle. No idea if it was actually true. Might be a little bit of an adjustment.

  4. I would recommend setting money aside for a basic bike to get around. Possibly a used bike on [dba.dk](https://dba.dk) or similar auction website. You only need 3 gears or so since Copenhagen is very flat. You can even bring the bike in the S-Tog (train system) if you live outside the city centre.

  5. Well Alex firstly your English is not great, but it is still good. I would say learn more about the place and country before moving there cause its kinda crucial
