I remember how wacky i thought it was when we changed the 200 bill to a fish
Then take them home….
Keep in mind this is worth around 80 euros…
I feel embarrassed when I use bills…. never use those.
Oh, so they look like this!
I’ve been in Norway for quite some months, and never paid anything with actual money, lol. I don’t think that I even saw a single note during my travels.
I like the older one better, but these are also very cool. I’m still old fashioned when it comes to money 😁
Longship!
Fr , they could have used a longship for the 500 nok one
That’s ok, we’re not using them.
I have lived in Norway for almost a year now and haven’t even got a single bill or coin.
What is this for?
You can keep them , nobody uses those here. I’ve heard even drug dealers take Vipps.
This are only here for grandmother giving presents to grandkids.
Great suvenirer if you have them framed. And not a bad price for a keep sake.
Nobody is stopping you
Actually just take them home lol, heck I get annoyed when people use cash anymore cause it takes time. And honestly they are really pretty, but just remember though they will probably change them again in the next 12 years. And if they do they need to be used up by a certain date or sent to the bank to be swapped out.
The 1000 Krone bill is pretty cool
traveled Norway for 4 weeks. never touched a bill or coin. everywhere i went i paid with my apple watch. amazing! the future is now old man!
take them away to lower inflation
Wish we had fish notes instead of people’s mugs and could make necklaces out of coins
I like how here in Sweden the images are of famous people from here but then in Norway it’s just like boat, fish, boat 2
Well….you can m8. It’s not illegal to own cash. Its just not very Norwegian to use cash any more, so we won’t miss it. By all means.
IT’S A TORSK ON THE 200 KRONER BILL
After the 500 note, there should just be a “many” kroner note. Like here’s a fuckload of kroner. Are you happy now?
I still like the old notes better (probably for sentimental reasons).
Money with people on looks better IMO, or at least put some famous landmarks, not “random” stuff. Or a fish, FFS…
Next 100 kroner bill shall have an ostehøvel on?
I also like that the back represents an abstract version of the front’s future, a cargo ship for the 100 bill if I remember correctly
Wow this are super pretty and cool!! Sent it to my sister (From a Polish person who got randomly recommended this post)
Edit; my sister’s reply:
“Oh my, I want that one with the fish!
and you could make a necklace out of those coins”
Should’ve seen the old ones😭😭

You can definitely take them home. I’m Murican and have some Norwegian cash. I like to collect money from other countries.
Take them home and start a foreign currency collection.
Norway’s banknotes are always top notch. Especially this current series. The previous series was awesome too, very classy.
My personal favorite is the 1000, it’s a thing of beauty. Both this series with the wave and the previous series with Edvard Munch as the theme and face of it.
I’ve lived here for 11 months. This is the first time I’ve seen the currency. Interesting looking!

You can! It will cost you 803 kroner.
Expected a second photo showing the pixelated images on the other side of the notes.
Wait untill you put’em under a UV light,,,,,,.
I feel like the proceeding statement was ‘Tell me you’re American without saying you’re American’.
Please do. Those are liabilities of Norges Bank, so if you take them out of the country just to collect them you are giving the state an interest-free loan for however long they stay out.
