Guten Morgen Deutschland! A German woman needs your help. Juli and her Indian husband were viciously assaulted by the family of an retired judge in Jaipur, India. The excuse for this blatant hate crime was that their dogs pooped on the street in front of the judge’s house. Although they cleaned up after their dogs, this mob assaulted them on the street, then tried breaking into their house. When the cops came (an hour later) they went to the judge’s house first. They then jailed Juli’s husband without charges for a day to intimidate them. It’s been over a week but no charges have been filed and those who attacked your fellow German have not faced any consequences for this barbaric assault. Instead Juli and her husband had to move to a different city for safety.
I do not personally know the victims, but I am also an Indian married to a foreigner and this is making my blood boil. This is clearly a racist / hate crime, the dogs were just an excuse. I keep thinking, what if this happened to my wife? Immigrants are vulnerable everywhere but in India it can be especially hard to get justice without political connections, or if the criminal is rich or influential. In this case since the attackers are from an ex-judge’s family, the police and state administration won’t do anything without considerable pressure. So WE NEED TO KEEP PRESSURE on the Indian administration until arrests are made!
