The US Space Force has selected CACI International to develop technology for testing and training personnel against increasingly contested space threats.
Under the National Space Test and Training Complex Innovative Technology & Engineering – Space Test and Range contract, CACI will design and deploy capabilities for live, virtual, and constructive training environments.
The company will work with the Space Force’s Operational Test and Training Infrastructure and System Delta 81 organizations to rapidly develop space and ground-based technologies for testing and evaluation.
The work will help validate systems and train personnel in realistic operational scenarios involving advanced threats.
CACI is one of 15 companies selected for the multiple-award contract, which has a ceiling of $981 million across two five-year periods.
“As the space domain becomes increasingly contested, we’re equipping Guardians with advanced technologies that enable realistic testing, accelerate mission readiness, and strengthen America’s advantage in space,” CACI senior vice president of space Andreas Nonnenmacher said.
Space Force Boosts Training
The awards form part of the US Space Force’s broader effort to support testing and training across space and ground environments.
In January, the service awarded Slingshot Aerospace a $27-million contract to bring AI-driven adversaries into its space warfare training, replacing scripted scenarios with simulations designed to replicate the behavior of potential threats in orbit.
Earlier, in September 2024, the Space Force selected Virginia-based Aleut Federal to support its introductory Officer Training Course, with instruction covering space, intelligence, and cyber operations based on each trainee’s aptitude and expected role.
