The Reserve Bank of India has notified banks and financial firms that it has amended its sanctions list of people and entities linked to al-Qaeda and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

The central bank reminded lenders of their duty to ensure they do not have any accounts in the name of individuals and entities suspected of having terrorist links.
