  1. I Thought we travel on the train from Krakow to a few other cities, the train is a normally a great way to see a country, but for some reason someone put up these fences, and you can’t see anything. Who’s idea was that? And how much were they paid?

    Pull down the wall.

Other than that you have a really beautiful country, though I would have liked to have seen it from the train too

  2. Many of these isolations, even on highway are isolating grass fields plus they are ugly. I live next to train rails for 10 years (~50 meters from tracks) and they installed these walls. They are just ugly and ruining landscape. Maybe if they could be made from wood like in Austria, they it would be better. I just traveled by car from Italy and we have ugly roads.

  3. Barriers for noise, there’s a lot of houses near tracks for some reason

  4. Sound stoppers, near my town they are see through with black birds painted on them but near forests I seen them in a mix of three colors green, yellow and orange

  5. to not bother houses and animals that were there first before they decided to build a highway trough their backyard

  6. Some people mentioned sound isolation but it’s also for privacy

  7. Took me a while to realise it’s not about the wall on the border with Belarus

  8. Oof I’m getting roasted on this thread, I get the sound reduction thing, it’s just a real shame that my trips out of the cities were ruined by the metal fencing I wanted to see some of the beautiful countryside without having to drive, I guess I just won’t travel by train in Poland anymore. Maybe I’m spoilt by the uninterrupted scenery usually found on the railways in the UK.

  9. In most cases, there are houses, literally, next to the track or motorway. There are some unfortunate exceptions.

  10. Gotta hide them biolabs we got from Ukraine for safekeeping.

  11. As much as I love trains, if I was living next to the tracks I’d rather see this then another lovely EU07 waking me up at three am.

  12. Sound stoppers, idk why but houses are often next to large motorways

My grandfather’s village is literally on a motorway

  13. Trains are ment to go from A to B, not to satisfy your vision.

  14. Birds mostly. The plastic ones usually ended up with birds breaking their heads against them since they cant really see them when flying, stickers are helping but not much and since its easier to make these than clean the bodies and getting all corpse esters on the road, not to mention smell.

  15. The truth is… A friend of high-level politician started a new business. His business is production of noise reduction walls. So they are putting this shit in the middle of nowhere

  16. Behind that fence people want a little bit of quiet for a change

  17. noise barriers but many times places in areas where there is no need for that

  18. If my neighbors were Belarus and Russia I’d want a 50 foot wall along my border
