Any suggestions to help this guy out?

  1. Where are you based. There’s a bat rescue expert woman in Kildare I believe. I could try and get her details if that’s any use.

We found one on the ground during the day about 2 years ago. Left it with a general animal sanctuary, didn’t make it unfortunately.

  2. Found this guy on the capping on my wall.
I’ve no idea about bats. Had a look on line and they said they can become exhausted. They say to feed him a small amount or cat/dog food, I gave him a dropper of 2ml less than 10% suger water and put him in a box until it gets dark.

If I remember correctly they cant fly off the ground, is that right?

“Short term solutions for a bat that appears tired is to contain it in a shoebox with small ventilation holes punched in the lid and provide it with very small amounts of fresh mealworms or very finely chopped up dog or cat food. Water to drink can be provided through a dropper or from the end of a drinking straw, or place an upturned lid of a drinking water bottle with water in it in the box. Keep the bat in a dark quiet room, at room temperature”

  3. Poor lil thing. I’d agree leave it be and maybe put out water of something for it? And then contact bat conservation or a vet. Poor baba

  4. We don’t have rabies here but these guys are considered a risk. Just leave him alone. I’ve seen bats sleeping on the side of my house before. He or she’ll be grand.

  5. What a gorgeous little creature, I remember they’d fly into our house quite a bit. Became an almost daily task to untangle the baby bats from the throws on the armchairs.

  6. Pipistrelle by the looks of it. I love these guys, lots of them around my house, only excluded them finally from the roof this year (on instruction from the ranger & with correct permits)

Sounds like you already got the correct advice, good on ya.

  7. Get a small cage and trap it in the cage and then put the cage on your table

Congrats here is your new bat pet 2.0
