As a gay person living in England, Why all the fuss? The vast majority are not interested in what should be private business (your sexuality, straight, bi or gay)
No one cares about your sexual preferences here, unless they are extreme religious like Muslim or Christian (hard-line) , but thankfully they are very few.
This has all turned into Corporate greed and narcacists pretending they are being persecuted. And people who’s only defining trait is their sexuality.
It’s all very silly, boring and cult-like now.
If you want to help gay people, call out & raise awareness to countries where they stone them to death, where we actually are punished for our choices..
Does this mean the world is getting gayer?
I kinda feel like when Pride is essentially a corporate event and every business wants to get in on the action to make themselves look good, it’s not really necessary anymore.
With the current treatment of certain sections of the LGBT+ community by the government and the media this Pride parade is more necessary than it has been for years, it’s really good to see so much support. We’ve made a lot of progress as a society but we have some way to go still and as the Tories have clearly demonstrated in the last years it’s always possible to backslide.
Love to see it. Pride events are needed more now than for a long time, the governments attitude, treatment and rhetoric towards LGBTQ people has been disgraceful.
Amazing. With the death throws of far right wind politics in western countries rearing their ugly heads it’s nice to see expressions of joy and love and feel hopeful for the future. A million is insane for this party – bring on a hopeful future that involves and includes us all.
Fucking awesome! Hopefully that helps some people realise how normal it is to be lgbt. Hats off to you all from a middle aged straight guy
Nothing says oppressed like massive parades in the capital city with your flags everywhere, not even a month after people were screaming about flag shaggers. Is what it is I guess
I just passed through Embankment station and saw many, many, many middle-aged men who were just a bit too drunk and sort of fretting a bit in that middle-aged too-drunk gay guy way. I’m glad they had a good Pride
This country has been sliding to the right for the last six years at least, if not more. Things like this are a counter to the regressive attitudes our government and a lot of the press are trying their hardest to encourage.
Oh yeah, I was in Leicester Square to see a movie earlier today and was wondering what this was.
I thought it was some kind of “fuck you, we’re holding a pride parade even though pride month ended two days ago” thing.
I love July
Of all the things to be proud of why on earth is it something they have no control over?
I’m pretty certain the parade for the Chicago Cubs in 2016 was way bigger. I only read the title though.
Good for them, even if I’ll probably never go, it’s nice to see people enjoying themselves as themselves
