Live: Markets see broad-based rally led by realty; Oil above $93 | Closing Bell

Indian equity markets staged a strong rebound on Thursday, with the Nifty 50 snapping its seven-day losing streak and the Sensex gaining around 600 points on the weekly expiry day. The rally was broad-based, with market breadth turning positive and the India VIX falling nearly 6%, signalling easing near-term volatility.
All major sectors traded in positive territory, while IT stocks extended their recent gains and realty stocks recovered after two consecutive sessions of declines. Small- and mid-cap stocks also contributed to the upside, supporting a broad-based recovery across the market.
Among Nifty 50 stocks, Eternal, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Shriram Finance emerged as the top gainers, while Hindalco, Apollo Hospitals and InterGlobe Aviation were among the key laggards.
Global cues remained mixed. Brent crude climbed above $93 per barrel amid heightened geopolitical tensions, while Iran criticised Donald Trump’s latest economic threats, calling them “economic terrorism” and describing the move as a diversion from US interests. European markets remained volatile for another session.
