Tickets are now on sale for Sventastik Productions‘ rendition of Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun. The show will be held at the Salida SteamPlant Theater (220 West Sackett Avenue) in early October.
“We are beyond excited to be quick on the trigger and racing off towards our next production, Annie Get Your Gun!” states the Sventastic website.
The Concord Theatricals summary of the show states:
“Annie Oakley is the best shot around, and she manages to support her little brother and sisters by selling the game she hunts. When she’s discovered by Col. Buffalo Bill, he persuades this novel sharpshooter to join his Wild West Show.”
“It only takes one glance for her to fall head over heels for dashing shooting ace Frank Butler, who headlines the show. She soon eclipses Butler as the main attraction which, while good for business, is bad for romance.”
“Butler hightails it off to join a rival show, his bruised male ego leading the way, but is ultimately pitted against Annie in a final shoot-out. The rousing, sure-fire finale hits the mark every time in a testament to the power of female ingenuity.”
Showings are scheduled for:
6:00 p.m. on Fridays, October 2 and October 9, and Saturdays, October 3 and October 10.
3:00 p.m. on Sundays, October 4 and October 11.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for those aged 60 and up, $10 for youth 12 and under, and free for “lap children.”
