  1. they should’ve kept the stumpy remnant, it’s better than the spire. It’s also poignant, I find.

  2. It wasn’t a bad idea to get rid of the statue of Nelson, but it was sad to lose the pillar itself. There was an internal staircase to the top open for a small fee, and it provided a lovely view over the city centre.
