They’ll do nothing until it’s coming up to the election. Then they’ll try to buy votes with meaningless token handouts to demographics that won’t vote for them anyway. FFG is dead in the water as far as I can see.
Taxes on decent working people will go up to pay for more free money for those who refuse to work.
Really taking care of the already well off or retired voter base and fuck all for anyone else
I think we know what to expect by now, there will be €5 to €10 added to the dole every week, and people in employment will have a reduction in USC more than likely. Childcare is more complex than just people paying a creche every week (which I do for both kids, but there was a time my mother did the childcare and I would give her money) if the government actually wanted to do something about those costs they would increase child benefit across the board.
Lots of hot air and leaks will come out over the next couple of months and by September people will be so stretched from back to school and home heating costs that the smallest gains in their take home pay will feel much bigger than they actually are.
Fine Gael going against their core ideals for votes.
That’s what we call populism folks
I’ll be raging if they increase the dole. Why should someone sitting on their hole for 10 years be rewarded?
There’s thousand of jobs out there. A fire should be lit under their arses. Sick of paying for other people’s dole and housing. The incentive to work decreases by the year.
