Wait. Wasn’t the news that they have a female prime minister now just this morning?
I’ve just seen posts about first ever female PM in Sweden. Hours later, the government is disintegrating.
What happend in the past few hours that caused this?
Sweden, are you challenging us?
Welp, that was quick
For the confused:
1. Riksdagen votes for Magdalena Andersson as new PM for a S+MP coalition (also the former government under Löfven).
2. Riksdagen votes down her budget, M+KD+SD’s budget gets more votes; i.e. she has to govern with a right-wing budget.
3. MP won’t govern on that budget (especially as SD is a part of it), leaves government.
They’ll probably need a new vote on PM/government again now.
Hey i’ve seen this one before!
Interesting fact as far as I understand it.
You need a majority to agree to back on a government to get one in Sweden or get reelection.
Vs in Denmark were you just need not to have a majority against you or a majority for another person, for the largest party to become the government.
We quite often have a minority government then building different majorities around different policy packages. Which means that even if your “side” or party isn’t in government. You’ll most likely see your party get some of their policies anyways.
Because the minority government is essentially out to
figure out what policies it might be able to get through.
None the less. I find these differences in bureaucracies to be the most interesting part of government.
And I wish there was more knowledge about these differences.
Sweden wishes to become Belgium, how cute.
Wait.. Didn’t something like this already happen in Sweden earlier this year?
Is this Italy?
Best news of today
OmegaLuL. Are the Greens trolling?
Sweden: We had our first female PM.

Sweden: Okay, off you go.
BREAKING
Sweden can into Mediterranean countries now
Green party(Miljöpartiet) in Sweden is responsible for alot of bad stuff that have affected alot of people living on the country side. And in south Sweden people just dont like them pretty much. Their main group of voters live inside Stockholm and do not own a car for example. While people in north for example can have 200 km one way to work and gets affected alot with higher taxes on fuel.
And in south people are angry because they have shut down nuclear plants so electricity are 15 times more expensive than in the north.
Etc etc etc.
And now they leave the coalition government because the opposition won the voting on the next budget proposition. And because of that the prime minister elected by the parlament today(former PM resigned so the parlament voted for one instead of holding a general election and then elect her in the parlament as it usually is) resigned.
The opposition budget had lower fuel taxes included. And I think that is the main reason Why the Green Party leaves the government. But they know they might loose even more voters on that(they would not be elected to parlament if We had an election today because they have below 4% already). So they said it was because a right wing party (swedish democrats) was involved in the budget.
Well that was a roller coaster.
So who is caretaker? Löfven or Andersson?
r/antiwork
Now is the time to attack. Quickly, to the boats fellow Poles!
Miljöpartiet (green party) punches way above their weight class when it comes to screwing this country over. They have around 4% of the votes and walk a fine line at the minimum requirement to be included in the government. But they’ve managed to close nuclear power and make energy prices massive in the south compared to the north, and they are still trying to close the remaining nuclear power which produces close to 50% of Swedens electricity. And they’ve managed to massacre the countryside by making everything except public transport expensive as shit. They are synonymous with the nazi party in northern Sweden. And now they collapse the government out of spite beacuse a party they don’t like was involved in making the budget (the budget will stand either way)
They can quite frankly fuck off to oblivion. They are a destructive force of self rightous hypocrites.
BAHHAHA half the posts today are now totally irrelevant
This is better than going 580 days without a government, like Belgium 🇧🇪 👀.
The office was too cold.
Isn’t that some sort of Kindergarten dispute?
Oh no, in a democratic vote another budget has gained more votes, so let’s just all resign.
I need John Oliver to break this down 🙁
As an ignorant American, this is a bad thing right? And a big deal? It doesn’t seem like people are making a big deal of this.
Yap, the 22 election will be even messier than the previous ones. Yaaay
The socialist government has been ruling with their hands tied to their backs with a right wing budget for too long. I think it’s good that we have these discussions now so that hopefully we will have a government that gets to rule with their own budget after next years election…
