A man from Pakistan who claimed to be setting up a business here has lost an appeal to stay after immigration officers found he’d been working in defiance of the rules.
Muhammad Adnan Shabbir had come to the Isle of Man in 2024, claiming to be setting up a subsidiary of an Asian company.
But his leave to remain was revoked after it was found he’d breached rules by working at two restaurants on the Island as a commis chef.
He appealed the decision, but dismissing the application Immigration Adjudicator Christopher Arrowsmith said Shabbir’s evidence was inconsistent and the rules had been properly applied.
