> Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi singled out the U.K.’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic as a great example — of what not to do.
> The former European Central Bank president said the British approach, which involved a sudden lifting of restrictions on a July 19 “Freedom Day,” shows the need for nations to slowly reopen.
> “The U.K., one of the countries that conducted its vaccination campaign with great speed, after abandoning all caution, today has around 50,000 daily new cases and 200 dead yesterday,” Draghi said Wednesday, addressing Italy’s lower House of Parliament
Yea, we were avoiding this. Italy was just Suppressing the virus all summer so that the winter wave overwhelms you.
England remains open. No distancing rules, no capacity limits, no curfews, no work from home orders, no mask mandates, no vaccine passports.
And hospitalisations continue to drop, lowest for a several weeks now.
Make the vaccine compulsory and stop the bullshit. I fucking hate those green passes.

The only danger and risk with allowing increased powers is. If you can reign them back in after.
Look at Roman history for a example ofnhow it can go south, very fast.
While you may need and require such powers at the time. You always have to consider long term implications of them.
People are wrll, people. You give them power and they like it… Its a drug. Some get addicted.
Remember when Draghi criticised the UK for completely opening up in the summer and staying open despite high case loads?
